Classic Rock Backing Tracks
Classic Rock backing tracks are a must have for bands that are playing classic rock. You can find them on this site by clicking on Downloadable Backing Tracks. Keyboards were a very big part of many of the bands that were top names in the classic rock era and to do their songs without those parts is simply not doing the songs any justice at all. In fact the keyboards or piano or whatever is a very important part of the main riff of the song, to the point that if you try to cover the part simply with guitar riffs or something, it just doesn’t work.
We’re all familiar with bands like The Doobie Brothers and their hit “China Grove”. As a guitar player I’ve always just loved the opening riff and when the piano comes in it’s just the icing on the cake. It’s powerful and recognizable and is the signature for that particular song. You simply have to have the piano in there or it's just substandard.

I’ve never really played in a band that has a full time keyboard player because I just don’t think that keyboards are required in every song. They can even be over whelming. Employing a keyboard player is simply not practical in my mind for the type of music I generally play. However it’s easy to cover these very awesome songs of the 60’s and 70’s when you have the right classis rock backing tracks. Most audiences members aren’t even aware that there’s not a piano player on stage with you, however the song sounds better and more complete (as far as they’re concerned) and they respond well to your performance as a result.
There are lots of bands that used the keyboard and piano in their music effectively like the Doobie Brothers did. There’s bands like Steppenwolf, Styx, Journey etc… Here at Backing Tracks for Bands we will
offer all that we can. Depending on your age you may even regard some songs from the 80’s as classic rock. I don’t know if that’s the case or not but we’ll be offering backing tracks for bands from that era as well. Face it, if you don’t have a keyboard player in your band but you wish to play Van Halen’s “Jump” then you’re pretty much going to need a backing track because there’s just no other way to do it.
