Rock Backing Tracks
Of all the rock backing tracks I’ve used over the years, I would have to say that my overall favourite ones to use have been the disco tracks. In particular, I’m talking about many of the ones I offer on this site. Those songs are just so much fun to play that I wish I had started doing disco songs years earlier. I’m a hard rocker too, so for a statement like that to come from somebody like me…. Well… You can do the math…
Disco tracks include horn parts which were very common in the disco era, along with keyboard parts and possibly backing vocals and even percussion in some cases. The disco tracks I provide on this site are tracks that I have personally used when playing live. If you’re in a band that prefers to play to its’ audience then disco tracks are one of the best decisions you can make. To help ensure the 'commercial success’ of your band you have to play songs that people are going to want to dance to and nothing does a better job of that than playing disco songs. Disco seems to be the music
that joins all people. It doesn’t matter what your crowd is, people can identify to it. Older people love it because it brings back good memories and younger people love it because you can dance to it.

Other rock backing tracks primarily include keyboard
backing or other instrumental backing. On some of the tracks on this site I’ve
added percussion to help out with the feel and some of them have had backing
vocals added to them as well. I generally don’t make a habit of adding backing
vocals to tracks. I have done it on some of the songs on this site but only
because I’ve felt like I’ve required it at one time or another. I don’t make
tracks that are just backing vocals at this time either. I don’t mind adding
vocals to my own tracks if it’s truly going to help the show but I do draw the
line at some point because I don’t want the show to become a karaoke show.
Vocals can be added by the user to any of the tracks on this site by putting the
track into some kind of recording program singing and recording the required
vocals, and panning them to the right on the mix down. Certain songs absolutely
need this in my opinion.
